PhotoMate® for Agilent and Bruker
The PhotoMate® for Agilent LC/MSD was the first commercially available APPI source offered on the market. Based on patented orthogonal sprayer technology, the PhotoMate® for Agilent is shown to have high sensitivity over a wide range of flow rates and is capable of ionizing a wide range of compounds, such as non-polars, that are missed by APCI and ESI.

The PhotoMate® for Thermo Fisher Scientific LC/MS, including dual APPI/APCI capabilities, was the first dual ionization source offered for LC/MS instruments. The PhotoMate® for Thermo Fisher Scientific is offered for their full range of products including the LCQ, LTQ, and the Quantum and is available for the latest Ion Max ion source configuration (see picture). The dual APPI/APCI source enables detection of a wider range of compounds than either source alone and is capable of ionizing a wide range of compounds, such as non-polars, that are missed by APCI and ESI.

PhotoMate® for Waters/Micromass “Fishbowl” LC/MS
Syagen has developed a PhotoMate® upgrade kit for Waters/Micromass “Fishbowl” style LC/MS instruments. These kits are compatible with most Waters MS systems with the Fishbowl ion source. The PhotoMate® upgrade kit offers similar performance to the other PhotoMate® products listed above and enables detection of compounds, such as non-polars and steroids that are missed by ESI and APCI.
PhotoMate for Shimadzu
Syagen has developed an APPI source for Shimadzu’s 2010-A mass
spectrometer that will enable Shimadzu customers to optimize product performance by ionizing molecules frequently missed by other methods.
